Deprecation of CentralPS direct printing

This semester, and perhaps since before then, deprecation notices have begun appearing on the cover sheets of CentralPS jobs submitted via LPD. The notice reads

Notice:
This method of printing to central-ps will be discontinued on Dec 21, 2018.
Go to central-ps.gatech.edu for future printing through this service.
Printing in local departments will continue as usual.

My own correspondence with OIT confirms that this deprecation is set in stone; they wish to transition all CentralPS users to the Web portal submission system.

Once the deadline passes, it should be tested whether or not the LPD service has actually been discontinued. If tests confirm that it no longer functions, the CentralPS setup method should be removed from the script.

Has there been any followup with this? I might close this out soon if the deprecation has gone through.

I've been away from campus all semester, so I haven't been able to check. Hopefully someone can chime in if they've tested it; otherwise, I'll follow up once I've confirmed it myself.
