In this issue I wanted to capture the status of the integration of DESCQA with the DC2 DM catalogs.

@yymao and @wmwv have been working on generating a way to read DM outputs with GCRCatalogs here.

@yymao and @wmwv Do you have a sense of which of the tests in LSSTDESC/descqa#50 will work with these catalogs and which will need modifications?

Just to clarify, when you say "DM outputs" here you actually mean the "merged catalog generated by @wmwv", right?

There are (at least) two things to do to run this in DESCQA:

  1. We need to move the reader into GCRCatalogs. (At this moment the reader for the merged catalog is sitting alone in DC2_Repo.

  2. We need to map more quantities to the GCRCatalogs schema. Right now I only implemented a minimal set.

Sorry, yes, I meant the catalog generated by @wmwv. In principle, the infrastructure should be the same for R1.2p/1.1i, is this right?

As for your points 1 and 2, is there anybody already doing this or interested in doing this?

@fjaviersanchez no one is doing these two things at this moment, but they are not very difficult to do and I'll be happy to do them (but I'm swamped with other things this week, so soonest next week).

That said, the schema was designed with extragalactic catalog in mind, so it would be good to check if there's something need to be added to the schema for observed quantities, which I would appreciate some help.
