Klipper is already very mature on the 3d printer side, I wonder if it would be difficult to add the gbrl command support to it (https://github.com/grbl/grbl/wiki)

That would open up klipper to the world of CNC and Laser Machines, plus it would facilitate the use of 8 bit 3D controllers on these same machines with the power of a Pi!

Thanks!

This isn't something I plan to work on - I don't have a CNC machine and I'm not familiar with the g-code commands. I'm open to merging support if someone does wish to implement it.

If someone does wish to take it on, I would recommend that they identify popular g-code generator software and then add the necessary code to Klipper to support that software. Generic "g-code support" is not an achievable goal as g-code has become too fragmented. G-code is an "un-standard".

It doesn't look like this is being actively worked on, so I'm going to close this for now.
