I was making a custom craft using the custom heatshield set to Mercury heat shield, however craft does not survive reentry, tried a multitude of reentry periapses however that didn't change anything. Tried the adjustable heatshield at 1.9m diameter set to mercury heatshield on a mercury capsule, capsule overheated periapses -112 km. Changed the heatshield to the normal mercury heatshield (slightly increased weight) reentry periapses -102km successful reentry. This shows me that the adjustable RO heatshield with mercury settings is not properly configured, likely that heat flux values are different? I was wondering also if there is a quick way to change it in the config files so i can move on in my playthrough.
KSP version: 1.12.5
RO/RP1 version: 17.9.0.0
Installed through CKAN, however should be noted that i removed a RP1 express install folder to use non-RO parts mainly from near future and Kerbal Reusability Expansion.

This is not an issue that can be resolved easily, unfortunately. KSPs way of determining whether a part is exposed to heating is a little inconsistent, which means adjustable heat shields may not properly shield things. The pre-made heatshields will have somewhat more consistent behavior.
