No way to access fontconfig used

Using this library, it seems impossible to access any methods provided by the downloaded/detected fontconfig dependency, which would be required e.g. for loading custom fonts without an entirely new fontconfig file. Would it be possible to add a julia hook to the fontconfig library, similar to _jl_libcairo?
