Why use Java to develop graphical interfaces?
What are the advantages of doing this?
Or why not use QT to develop graphical interfaces?

The OpenSeaSeis package was written by Bjorn Olafsen as an SU interface.
I personally do not see graphical user interfaces to be that useful for SU. Everything can be done with shell scripts and on the command line. If someone would like to do a graphics oriented project, how about writing new graphics tools in OpenGL?
