Minutes

  1. Paged Content Sprint COMPLETE. But...

    • a little late but everyone continued working
    • closing PRs resulting in a Paged Content feature
    • very important feature
      • ability to read & create IIIF manifest
      • ability to view the pages
      • drag-n-drop of pages for reordering
    • stuck to drupaly ways as much as possible
    1. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/islandora/pull/167

      • Currently only accepts AND logic on the multitags
      • decided to accept PR and work on the OR logic as an improvement
      • being merged by Seth Shaw
    2. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/openseadragon/pull/14

      • Danny has it set for the view to display the openseadragon in a block
      • using Context it passes the manifest to the viewer
      • Eli tested and had a failed issue so further testing needed
      • possible configuration issue
      • Eli also working on getting Mirador in a block to work so looking forward to that
      • Danny found a module for Mirador but Eli hasn't had success with it because it is using an old version of Mirador so will continue working with updated Mirador in block tests.
      • Mirador will accept the manifest directly but openseadragon doesn't so Danny's work has to parse the manifest
      • Eli suggested that we look into working with/updating the Mirador module in future
      • discussion on configurations
    3. https://github.com/Islandora-Devops/claw-playbook/pull/140

      1. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/Crayfish/pull/77
      2. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/islandora/pull/163
      3. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/islandora_defaults/pull/7
      4. https://github.com/Islandora-Devops/ansible-role-crayfish/pull/30
      • if PDF code extraction done by HyperCube
      • else uses Tesseract
      • still using Alan Stanley's work just small changes to try to "mush" it in
      • looks for content tagged as a "Page" or "PDF"
      • creates special media type to display all the text
      • text also gets put into a field so that it gets indexed in SOLR for searching
    4. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1272

      • very simple, just changes the tab to children instead of members
    5. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/islandora_defaults/pull/9

      • Seth used weight module "pieces" to get the drag-n-drop to work

      • now accounts for children who have no weight values

      • went with integer weights because semantically speaking negative numbers make no sense as an order

      • general discussion on "weighting"

      • question about schema:positon vs schema:index

      • google was insisting on changing the integer types when using position vs index

      • that made use of the schema:position to complicated for the sprint needs

      • discussion on how rdf mapping can take multiple mappings and easily customizable by user so use of either/both can fall on user choice
