We've been using the islandora_matomo plugin at Lehigh University for a year or so, and it's worked quite well. Our matomo instance is managed by our central IT group, and they are planning to upgrade to a Matomo 4.x release. The CustomDimensions module required by islandora_matomo requires a Piwik version (apparently the old name for Matomo) that is <4.0.0-b1. So CustomDimensions doesn't work yet in the new Matomo. Are there any plans to update this plugin to work with newer Matomo? Thanks!

@noahwsmith @DiegoPino any thoughts on my question above? Thanks!

Hi there. No, there is no plan to update this for Matomo 4.x because that key feature CustomDimensions is not supported by 4.x. My apologies, ~Noah

Actually, on a closer read, CustomDimensions is now part of Matomo 4 core. It was Custom Variables that were deprecated entirely. So your request would be possible, but there are so few folks using Islandora 7 at the moment that it doesn't seem likely.

We will be working on an Islandora 2.0 version of this module soon which will use Matomo 4. Presumably back-porting the matomo side of that work could be a lesser lift in the future, if it is still needed. I'll post a link when that work is eventually done...
