Hello,

I have tried to use this to convert a couple STL files, but the produced dat file is empty except for the title block and the command line states that there are 0 triangles.

I am on a MAC if that matters.

Thanks,
Cameron

Are they text STL files? Or compressed? This will only work on text STL files.

I am not sure how to identify that. They are exported from Fusion 360. I have attached a sample here.

I had the terminology wrong, it is "binary" vs "ascii". Maybe there is an option to export the STL file as ascii in Fusion 360? Otherwise you'll have to find a converter.

The quickest way to check the file is to load it into text editor. If you can read it is ascii. Or you can use a command like more from the command line.

$ more my_file.stl

The sample file you uploaded is binary.

That is prefect. I was able to find an online converter. THanks again. This is going to be really helpful!
