The analog pin for wind direction has failed and only reports 0-10 degrees. This has happened repeatedly to our station (once or twice per year) and necessitates buying a new boron or jumping to a different pin.
A pilot with EE background suggests "sounds like over-voltage on the pin, either from the sensor or from static electricity buildup. Try adding a capacitor from the analog line to ground and a TVS diode rated at the max voltage for that input."
There was no lightning at the time it failed but we do have very low humidity here and static electricity / grounding issues would be more likely than at your coastal sites
