NP Admin reported these User/Bidder UX/UI bugs and issues re:

  • Login/create an account doesn’t drop Users back into the auction they were in
  • Default state error where a failed bid blocks Bidder from bidding
  • Checking the “Save my payment info” box doesn’t save payment info.
  • “Share Free Bids” button could use hover helper text

See explanations below.

  • First, the site forced me to login or create an account, but when I logged in, it didn’t drop me back in the auction, and I couldn’t navigate to it, so I had to go back to the email and click the link again.

  • [default state error == >] Second, I placed the $2 bid but … my billing address was on Nebraska, not New York (user error). That bid didn’t seem to go through … But then when I went back to fix the address and tried again, the site gave me an error that someone already placed the $2 bid and told me to return to the auction, but without a link to return to the auction. When I navigate to the auction, it’s now set back to $2 bids, and every time I try bidding it gives me the same message that someone already placed the $2 bid and to return to the auction.

  • Also, I keep checking the box to save my payment information for the future, and it isn’t.

  • The “Share for Free Bids” button is great but may want to have an info tip or hover-over that explains it inline.

And @jaspercroome’s response:

  • :clipboard: great feedback on the checkout process. That’s a hole in the funnel that we’d be well-served to fix.
  • :warning: we’re tracking that default state issue. I’m going to go ahead and cancel your bid - it looks like that error you hit kept your order in a limbo status, which was blocking other bids. This is high-priority for us to fix, as I’m sure you’re not the last to hit this.
