Goals

gdg-bootstrap is a client-side JavaScript app that helps GDG (Google Developer Group) clubs put up a website for their members to aid in communication and information dissemination.

gdg-bootstrap primarily uses Google Plus API's to pull content from the GDG's Plus Page and Community Page.

Wish List

We've identified several extensions we'd like to develop based on this foundation.

1. Migrate to Angular.js
2. Build individual member profiles.
3. Build an Achievement/Badge system to recognize members participation and goals.
   • Use YouTube API to deliver badges for watching Google IO videos.
   • Meeting attendance records.
   • Serving as event organizer or speaker.
4. Integrate with developers.google.com application to cross post events from G+.
5. Integrate with meetup.com to migrate event and attendance data to developers.google.com.
6. Show member-wide statistics and badges
   • Especially track attendance of meetings.
7. Identify group and event organizers.
8. Help people sign up for volunteer opportunities.
9. Migrate club-specific customizations to individual files for easier modification.
