No apparent way to set Recurring Type when processing a recurring payment

We are encountering the following error while trying to process follow-up payments using the REST API:

N:-42742:Recurring Type not allowed

There is an example in the SOAP documentation of how to set this property : https://docs.firstdata.com/org/gateway/node/1707

But nothing in the REST API docs references RecurringType: https://docs.firstdata.com/org/gateway/node/1514 . The payload of the request we are submitting for the follow-up payments matches the example shown on this page.

Is this property missing from the API, or is it referred to by a different name?
