The side plot in the timelines tab should also accept information on molecular data. Categorical events such as gene mutation should be made available to show the relationship between things like genetic mutations and survival. The x-axis can be the gene, with the patient/gene relationship being shown in the same manner as other categorical binary yes/no events, as done for radiation treatments shown here.
