Cannot resize Mentor-Student chat window

Hi! We are having issues with viewing past messages because we are not allowed to resize the chat box. We can only view it when we resize the chrome window. Can this be fixed?

I think this is a great example of some issues we have with UI design. Although the requirement to have a chat box is met, is it really serving it's underlying purpose for communication if people do not notice replies? Also, the user is likely to formulate the problem in terms of a potential solution (resizable chat box), but is the problem really the size of the box, or what is visible in it?

To give some context, the reason this is like this is because we want the output window to have a fixed aspect ratio equal to the aspect ratio (3:2) of the Elm output. But we are definitely interested in ideas to make this better!
