I have just gotten around to start using my early indigogo-version of fabtotum. I tried to use the most recent (and only linked) version of the fab-ui colibri os.

the printer starts flashing yellow and never gets to the booted-up stage where it would be giving white light. as the raspi boot never finished, I cannot connect via ethernet or any other means.

as per suggestion in the now defunct official forum I connected a LCD to the raspis HDMI out. the last message before bootup hangs is https://nextcloud.hintzinseesen.de/index.php/s/F4mZyi5cdHBcqGb

I tried multiple sd-cards, including the original one that came with the printer.

As far as I know you can now access the web interface using the correct IP to finish the installation.

But good luck, it never worked for me.
After finishing the process in the web interface it still did not boot "correctly" and I never saw the white light or a working web interface again. I threw it in the corner.

Hi Carsten,

The HDMI output does not show any errors so you need to follow the first setup/boot instructions.
Depending on your operating system you will need to configure your network (ethernet) to use for example 169.254.1.10 address and then you would open your browser and type 169.254.1.2 address to get to the install wizard. After that just follow the on-screen instructions.

FAB-UI 1.0 has been discontinued for a while so best is to use the latest sdcard from FAB-UI 2.0.
You can read more on the wiki page.

And in case you have not follow the news FABtotum has stopped working so there is support of updates since June 2018.

Which news? Which support? They still sell their products on the homepage and don't have any information about this in any social media channel.
But good to know. 😅
