I want to record screen on macOS + the audio coming out from the speakers. An option to also capture mic (OR to not capture mic) would be great. I don't see any instructions for this kind of scenario in the wiki, is this the right app for this purpose? |

I manage to get it to work but the quality recorded for my mic is different via BlackHole versus direct I tested it via QuickTime Player New Audio Recording, and selecting the macbook mic or the aggregated mic above. |

How I got this to work is to create a
Multi-Output Device
inAudio Midi Setup
, selected themacbook speakers
andBlackHole 2ch
:Before each screen recording, ensure current output is the Multi-Output device instead of the macbook speakers.
In the screen recording option, select BlackHole 2ch as microphone device.
Not sure if this is the correct way but it worked for me. I think what is happening is that by selecting
Multi-Output Device
as the sound output, the OS outputs to bothmacbook speaker
and toBlackHole
. Now thatBlackHole
has the sound, we selectBlackHole
as the microphone, so that the screen recording will now record the sound fromBlackHole
(i.e. the audio from the OS).If I …
