My initial reaction is that your interests might be best served by removing udisks2 anyway. I would be interested to learn what exact functionality of XFCE depends on udisks2. Would you be willing to test your environment without the udisks2 package
It may be that some advanced disk operations in thunar will stop working. 🤷♂️ |

but the disk does not appear in Thunar to get mounted. So the desktop experience gets affected. |
Before I seriously revisit issue later. Let me just put this out: I always mount my USB in command line. 🤷♂️ |
