It would be a large benefit to users if we could assign ecological information to genomes. This is a rather substantial project though. Some possibilities:

  • for MAGs we can aim to establish the environmental source of the sample from which they were recovered
  • we might be able to mine this from Sandpiper (https://sandpiper.qut.edu.au/)
