I wonder if it's worth using Atmosphere to reduce cross-browser dev problems with websockets:

Or we could just go with jQuery websockets. I know nothing about either, so I have no preference.
Edit: Given the name of this Atmosphere client library, I'm not even sure about the relationship between Atmosphere and jQuery. I'll look into it.

Thout is deeply tied to websockets, let's go with raw ones. There's no need for fallback.
