Announcement: Launch of the Alpha Incentive Program for the DIG Network

Please only participate in this program if you know what this project is about and you are able to accept the risks, and you have the technical background to work in a linux web server.

Dear Community Members,

We are excited to announce that the Alpha Incentive Program for the DIG Network is now live!

Please note that this is not the official launch of the DIG Network. This alpha phase is a test aimed at building out our mesh network, and your participation is crucial to its success.

Your Role in the Network

Your primary goal as a participant is simple:

1. Install the Dignode Software: Follow the setup instructions to install the software on your system.
   • Important: The software has only been tested on Ubuntu. We recommend using Ubuntu for the best experience during this alpha phase.
2. Make Your Node Visible: Ensure your node is connected and visible to the DIG Network.
3. Let It Run: After setup, allow the software to run continuously—no further action is required.

How to Confirm Successful Setup:

• XCH Rewards Every 10 Minutes: You will know your dignode is set up correctly when you start receiving XCH tokens in your wallet approximately every 10 minutes.
• Automated Earnings: Once running, the process is entirely automated. Just keep your node active to continue earning.

Participation Requirements

• Minimum XCH Balance: To participate, you will need at least 2 XCH in your wallet.
• Dedicated Wallet: Per the setup instructions please use a dedicated wallet.

Feedback and Support

We anticipate that there may be bugs during this alpha phase. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve the DIG Network. If you encounter any difficulties or notice something isn't working as expected, please contribute to our discussion board:

How You Can Help

• Submit Pull Requests (PRs): If you find issues in our documentation or code, we welcome your contributions. Please feel free to submit PRs to help us improve.
• Provide Feedback: Share your suggestions for enhancing the documentation or node setup process.

Important Considerations

• Operating System Compatibility: The Dignode software has only been tested on Ubuntu. Using other operating systems may result in unexpected issues.
• Data Synchronization: Your dignode will automatically sync with the data store containing docs.dig.net, effectively making your node a mirror for that data.
• Use at Your Own Risk: While we've made every effort to ensure a stable experience, we cannot guarantee the software's performance during this alpha phase. Please use the software and fund your dignode at your own risk. We are not responsible for any lost funds.
• Content Safety: Currently, we are not integrating external incentive programs, so you should not encounter any issues with syncing inappropriate content.

No Guaranteed Payments

Please be aware that payments are not guaranteed if:

• Your node is not set up correctly.
• There are bugs or issues within the software.
