Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Ex. I'm always frustrated when [...]

Sometimes I take my medication but forget to update that fact in the app.

It is not possible to manually correct the record here; there is no UI to do it. Additionally, when you've taken a scheduled dose already, there is absolutely no way to log another dose, even at some other date.

Describe the solution you'd like
A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

You should be able to log a dose as if it happened i.e. yesterday.

You should ideally also be able to log a dose regardless of whether there's a scheduled dose connected to it. Sometimes life happens and the circumstances require such a thing. For the purposes of correcting the record, you should then also be able to connect your freely logged dose to a scheduled dose.

Describe alternatives you've considered
A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.

Additional context
Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

One possible way you might think you could work around this is to log an additional dose and modify its date but that doesn't actually work:

The inability to do this made me uninstall the app which is sad because it was otherwise quite nice.

For anyone else who needs this to work, I've switched to https://github.com/jclehner/rxdroid for now which appears to support this sort of thing quite well.
