Joined a dojo, added my kids, then started a new dojo. My kids are not members of the new dojo

I "joined" a dojo as a parent, added my kids and they show up as manageable members of that dojo. Fast forward a couple of years, and I've started my own dojo, but my kids don't show up as members of the dojo, so I cannot manage them as the dojo champion to add rewards/achievements etc. I'm guessing that because I can't "join" the dojo that I've created, that perhaps it's the process of a parent "joining" a dojo that adds the kids to the dojo?
