To better protect traffic to our GitHub powered page we need to add https to our website.
Since GitHub Pages now officially1 supports HTTPS for all .github.io sites would be great to implement it to our domain name as well.
More details about the implemntation: https://blog.github.com/2016-06-08-https-for-github-pages/. Would be nice if we could do this by June 2018.

I can definitely help with this. The site can be hosted on my server. Does that sound okay?

@rskikuli has to change A records at Namecheap so the site gets HTTPS, I think GH pages is the best solution so you won't need to use a server for just this.
