Describe your issue

Enabling the setting Hide deleted messages does not actually hide them until the UI is updated. The goal here is to immediately remove messages that are deleted by moderators. Am I misunderstanding the feature here or is this indeed a bug?

Steps to reproduce:

  • delete a message
  • the message becomes highlighted as deleted but stays visible
  • when forcing UI update, e.g. by scrolling or resizing the window, the message disappears
