After a recent reboot (Windows 10), I had the problem where double-clicking the Squid3-1.10.6.jar file would open the file association dialog and not launch Squid. I could not re-establish the association with Java (v1.8.0_361).
Googling suggested I re-install Java, but I did not want to mess with a version I know works. Luckily I tracked down a small utility called Jarfix built to solve exactly this problem and it worked for me. Here's the url: https://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html
Hope this helps anyone else that encounters a similar problem. I'm happy to hear if anyone has a better solution (or what might cause the problem in the first place).
By the way, what is the latest version of Java that works with Squid 3?
