Custom Heat Map

I am working with U-Th-Pb data for monazite, plotting Th concordia diagrams and 232Th/208Pb age weighted means. I have had success in making these diagrams but now want to use the heat map function. Under the "custom" tab for heat map, nothing appears. I wish to colour each analysis by custom categories such as grain form which I rank from 1-4. If I add this column to the .csv file, nothing still appears under the "custom" tab for heat maps. Is there a way to create custom heat maps?
