Movement buggy on Desire Z

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Any attempt to move (W,A,S or D)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to move for the duration that the key is held down for, but instead, I 
have to hold the key down for about a second to start moving, then release it 
and briefly press it again to stop.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
HTC desire Z
Android 2.3.7 with cyanogenmod

Please provide any additional information below.
Game runs *perfectly* otherwise. Very well done port. All other keys appear to 
work perfectly. W,A,S and D work perfectly in the console.
