I have some mail that I keep as a reference, and even if they are really old, I dont want them to be archived.
It could be interesting to have an option to exclude from the archival process mails with a certain tag or within specific folders.
Is this possible?

You can use the "star" feature. Mark a mail with a star in thunderbird (simply press the star in the column with the star icon).
And then configure AutoarchiveReloaded to not archive star mails.
In this way mails with a star are kept in your account.
Another option is to configure Autoarchive to ignore all mails with tags (regardless of what tag it is).
