[Feature Request]: Nest Doorbell Battery Support #503
Comments
Nest Doorbell Battery uses WebRTC protocol |
Can it be implemented? |
Can it? Yes. Starling uses WebRTC. If Google would release their web version, I could reverse engineer it. I don't know of any other way to find the code other than that. |
I think Scrypted supports WebRTC Nest Doorbell Battery, but I haven't had time to set it up yet. If they do, they must be somehow transcoding it. |
It does. Works perfectly. |
I bought myself a Starling Home Hub. It works with the Nest Doorbell Battery. If you need something for reverse engineering, I am willed to support you. I just cant send you the Hub. |
Scrypted uses the newer device api to interface with the newer cameras. The free apis used in this plugin are still not capable of accessing them. |
Have you had a chance / been added to Google's new preview of their web version that they just released? http://home.google.com |
Enhancement of issue
The Nest Doorbell Battery doesnt connect to the old home.nest.com accounts. It does connect to Google Home. Technically it should work, because in the backend, I am sure it uses the same Infrastructure. However because there is no current Web Client for the Cam, I have no idea how to get to a refresh token.
Solution
I dont have a solution. Thats why I contact you. I am sure in the Google Home App, there could be one, but I have no idea how to fetch it.
Alternatives
No response
Additional Context
I can beta test any software you develop. I hope that there is a solution. Maybe via SDM, but I never looked at it.
