Feature Request: Assign To User Selector

Can you update the "Assign To" box to be a user selector instead of a free form text box?

I'd actually like to assign the user to the value of a field that contains a user. We have for our work items a "QA Tester" field which is a person's name. When the Work Item goes into Ready for Test after deploy, I'd like to assign to whomever the value of "QA Tester" is? So I'd just need the ability to copy that field into the Assigned to. Is that a possible enhancement? (E.g. specify the field from which to grab the name of the new assignee?)
