Dear translators,

A new English version of the Bioconductor Code of Conduct has been created (version 1.0.2).
We kindly ask you to check those latest changes, and update the translation of the language that you maintain or contribute to.

You will not be able to tick the boxes above. This will be done by a repository administrator when pull requests are merged. If the administrator forgets, please post a message in this thread to remind them.

Special notes

  • Take a moment to read the new "purpose" section of the landing page (https://bioconductor.github.io/bioc_coc_multilingual/).
  • In particular, recent feedback from the CoC committee emphasised that translations (i.e., all languages other than the original American English version) should NOT introduce new content, meaning, or formatting. Instead, translations should reflect the matching version in the original American English document. Any fix to the Code of Conduct policy MUST first be introduced in a new version of the American English document, which will then be propagated in the corresponding version of every other language.
  • In other words, please make sure that version 1.0.2 of every translated language matches version 1.0.2 of the American English document. If you spot any issue in the American English document during the translation process, please open an issue tagging @SaskiaFreytag and @kevinrue describing the issue, and - while that issue is being handled - please continue translating version 1.0.2 in its current state.

We really appreciate your help. If you have any further question, please post a message in this thread.

To help everyone, I've just dug up the commit/pull request that updated English version 1.0.1 to 1.0.2:

6f06ec2

That should help guide you through the necessary updates.

PS: however, as noted above, please do briefly check that the rest of the document matches as well. If you previously took the initiative to "fix" things (e.g., formatting) in the translation that still need to be fixed in the English version, please revert the translation to match the English version and open an issue requesting the fix in the English version first. Thank you!
