arch install #339
Comments
You need to run the installer in expert mode and then you can choose arch linux arm (as far as I know). After installation you need to upgrade you system. Then you need to manually install all the packages from this pull requests: https://github.com/AsahiLinux/PKGBUILDs/pulls/joske |
so how to do expert mod and do the PKGBuilds |

So... you want arch linux arm? So 5 |

also um how to do THE PKGBUILDS |
@Omoli822, it's great that you want to try new things out on your machine, but I would ask that you consider that 'expert mode' is named this way because it is for experts. If you are not an expert, perhaps it would be better to start with an easier installation, and then understand what it is specifically about Arch you need to have? Have you tried doing the Fedora installation yet? p.s., it is worth checking the Reddit sub for more info on these types of things: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsahiLinux/comments/1gg3ccs/arch_linux_with_asahi/ |
I know how to get arch arch install and kde plasma |
And arch is good for dev I do java py and node and html |
And yes I do |
I can do html |
Well, good luck with Arch! It is not officially supported, so you are pretty much on your own. You can't use 'arch install', because you have to install all the required software yourself from the PKGBUILD files. See here for more info: |

I will get the stuff first then do that |
And wich one to click |
can i have all the instructions i am on macos 15 p.s are there pre made pkgs and how do i install |
You are installing something that is not supported. There are no step by step instructions. I am an Arch linux user on one of my non Apple computers, but I wouldn't even bother with this installation because it is not supported, and is not straightforward. Unless you are willing to learn, and read the documentation, this will not be possible for you to do. If there are any step by step instructions for installing Arch ARM on apple silicon machines, I am happy to be corrected on this... |
no like what to do first and last other wise i will just get it on my other computer |
what to do first: Look at the documentation for installing packages using PKGBUILD files In between these two steps there are many other unknown steps of increasing complexity. |
How to install pkg builds git clone |
can any one in 2024 help me get LINUX ARCH On my m1 mac
