If that doesn't sound like sci-fi I don't know what does. But it's an actual descriptive name of an actual feature we will have!

Basically, a given sphere on the lattice will always have the same interval class in it. Say, the 9/5 sphere will always be a minor 7th. But if you want that degree to be tuned differently, you can invite a minor 7th (say 7/4, 11/6, 29/16, etc) from another dimension, and it will come visit for a while.
