For those looking for a smaller cheaper board to run AllSky, just installed on a FriendlyElec NanoPi NEO3 2GB with the BookWorm Core 6.1 ARM64 image, installation finished without errors, WebUI loaded and ASI camera seems to capture images without a problem, not fully tested yet.

Yeah, I hope I can get the dew heater module to work, since without it the dome is going to be covered by snow after a few days.

I have been searching and previously tested on boards that have the bare minimum needed, one USB3 port and a PoE ethernet port, so that the whole setup can fit in a CCTV camera dome, and this is the first board I was able to get it to work out of the box, the image is completely stock, downloaded from FriedlyElecs website and just run apt-get update/upgrade before installing Allsky. The only problem with this board is that it doesn't have a dedicated PoE hat, so that is one thing I'll have to search around, I do have a PoE splitter with a USB-C cable output but it is almost 3 times the size of the NEO3.

Previous attempt was with a Rock Pi S which has a PoE hat that only adds a bit of height and only USB2, but was getting errors during installation and after getting a few things fixed to get the WebUI somewhat running it was very unstable.

Please keep us updated regarding any compatibility problems. The Le Potato is the only compatible device we have found.

Installing modules fails, since gpiozero is not installed by default. Tried to install it manually but of course it is giving an error with the pinout utility. @EricClaeys Does Allsky also use gpiozero on the Le Potato, for GPIO control?

I am only aware of one person using a Le Potato, and I think that was before we had modules. So, sorry, I don't know.

Timelapse, keogram and startrail creation seems to work, the image overlay doesn't seem to work (is enabled on day and night time modules), legacy overlay shows data but the layout is messed up, with the histogram being an empty box, and all text but the date being black. System page shows everything but "Throttle Status", the "LAN dashboard" works.

Tried the suggestions on #4199 (reply in thread) but got a message that groups gpio and spi don't exist.

I did install gpiod, and was able to list the gpiochips and see the gpios states.

@ckambiselis, try adding a set -x as the second line in ~/allsky/allsky.sh to see where the "not a terminal" errors at the beginning of the log file.

The "not a terminal" errors are coming from these commands:

sudo chgrp www-data /home/oscar/allsky/tmp/aborts
sudo chmod 775 /home/oscar/allsky/tmp/aborts

Remove the set -x command from allsky.sh, then run:

sudo chmod 775 /home/oscar/allsky/tmp/aborts

in a terminal window. It'll probably give the error message. If so, the way your Pi is treating the "sudo" command is different than Pi OS.
Try searching for the error message on the Internet.
