New React UI and Support for ksql DB or kafka streams

While deploying and using the latest React UI for v2.8 release, I found that many of the useful features and pages were still not available on the new UI. I had to revert back to the older UI version for using those features. For example:

1. The messages page of a topic does not display messages on the new UI.
2. There is no add new cluster/environment/user/team button on new UI.
3. The klaw settings page is not available in new UI
4. No 'Synchronize' feature is available on new UI
5. The roles and permissions page is also not available on new UI

I am trying to deploy the klaw as a self-served platform for kafka at my organization since it aligns well with the goals we have set. Also the new React UI provides an optimized user experience. I am highly interested in knowing if the future roadmap for klaw has the above pointers considered. This would be very beneficial in planning my timelines and performing further POCs on klaw.

Apart from the above mentioned UI issues, could you please also let me know if you plan to integrate support for ksql DB and kafka streams as well on klaw? And if there is any roadmap/timeline for the same?

Hey @mayankag24 thank you for starting this discussion, (I am also sorry for my slightly delayed response, I have been testing our latest release 2.9.0)

I agree completely that the Klaw React UI offers a neater more optimised experience and we are continuing to develop it for each release.
We have numbers 2-5 on our roadmap as we start to work on adding superadmin access to the new React UI.

As part of that our newest release (2.9.0) due next week we have added API guards to enable superadmin access in a follow up release.

This will mean superadmins will have access to the new UI and we hope to have cluster and environments pages updated to allow the addition of new clusters and environments in 2.10.0. Users and and teams will most likely be our next target.

On point 1 that you raised that may be a defect, we have a messages tab on the topic overview that should show messages.

I will do some extra testing around this now as part of our latest release.

At the moment we do not have plans to add ksqlDB or Kafka Streams, however if it is something that would be of interest to the community that could change.

I would recommend creating an issue for this feature request and we can work with the community to prioritize and develop that feature.
