(At end of Markdown block) The divider here looks out-of-place/misleading, and the use of a numbered list in the middle of the article can also be confusing (since it may be mistaken as part of the content, rather than as footnotes).
Because each question is meant to be self-contained (rather than the entire post forming a single article), footnotes should be positioned at the end of the question rather than the entire article.
A PR should be submitted that renders the footnotes similar to the style used on our WordPress website (but retaining standard web typographical elements, e.g. links being coloured blue):
