I won’t be updating this repository until I publish (osm_LoD1_3DCityModel village / campus; a free and open-source workflow…). The plan is;

• Remove pyvista (less dependencies) and render topological errors (crossing / intersecting) polygons with matplotlib.
• Include something like:

....which waits for user input to continue or exit the script.

• Perhaps move to `cgal’. (It’s easier. Geopandas.geometry (polygons) can be harvested as triangulation constraints and heights can be interpolated directly). But this depends on the resources I have access too –since one of the goals is; the least intensive solution (minimal input, dependencies and least RAM / memory) this might not be the best way to go.
• Add semantic surfaces to buildings and roads (wall-, roof-, floor- and traffic area)

The purpose of this work is to provide resource constrained communities with an array of high-quality 3D products ---at a much lower cost. Its participatory nature seeks to enable effective communication, community advocacy and facilitate broadly-based decision-making processes at a grassroots level. The tool can also be customized to meet basic education (citizen science, geography and coding) needs.

Please don’t steal these ideas and pass them off as your own. Give me an opportunity to publish.

I understand the necessity to publish novel research and the demands of funding is highly competitive. Academia is littered with the shattered dreams and broken lives of many, many people ---for this very reason.

I am asking you to imagine a new way to conduct research and ultimately how we live.

There is more than enough.
