It's a work-in-progress task and I'll be adding new MDM solutions here, for now I'll just collect some useful links.

Generally, MDM solutions allow managing company devices and their settings from a single place.

This is when you may need the "automatic connection" feature: so that you could roll out parameterized DNS settings to all company devices and AG DNS devices will be created automatically.

I suggest creating a generic instruction for MDM deployment for iOS and Android.

  • iOS: provide a template configuration profile file, explain how to enable automatic connection, explain how to parameterize it (for instance, Jamf allows using variables there)
  • Android: Microsoft Intune and Google Endpoint Management both offer an option to set up DNS.

"Automatic connection" article also needs to be improved, we need to explain that MDM is one of the cases when it can be useful.
