Unable to find ..\aw_server\static when adding binary and data files when building for macOS

• I have searched the issues of this repo and believe that this is not a duplicate.
• I have searched the documentation and believe that my question is not covered.

Having difficulty when building dmg installer for macOS. When I run make dist/ActivityWatch, error always results in: “unable to find ..\aw_server\static when adding binary and data files”.

Issue

I have run make build, make package, and finally make dist/ActivityWatch in that particular order. While according to this comment, aw_server\static is created by make build. So far I haven’t found similar problem.
