Who is the audience?

Anyone who uses R, Git, and GitHub in a team, particularly those at 2DII who plan to join the "tidy-ds" workshop on August 26-27.

Why is it important?

  • Fork and clone is a useful Git pattern that allows you to play well with others.
  • During the tidy-ds workshop, you will use this pattern to submit your assignments.
  • The usethis package helps you implement this workflow.

What will we cover?

  • Visualize this workflow from images.
  • Consider the challenges of a manual setup.
  • Consider the advantages of usethis setup (or any tool that sets things up automatically, e.g. gh).
