COnversation with someone at campground where I am staying dicusssiong the stiuation at Mt Ruapehu and how life pass holders lost there life passes.
Highlighted something about how even though the life passes where totally entitled to ski for life not just 10,20,30 years. It was there "abuse" of the life pass that was a contributing factor in the mountain failing.
More importantly I think of a connection with climate change and the eco activisim movement. Its the idea that yes you bought this bit of land and yes you can chop down all of the trees kill all the plants. But if you keep doing this sort of thing (which more or less you are allowed to do) then the world as we know it will fail.
The end point is that something about society is missing. That there is no check and balance to counter rampant selfishness and greed.
